6-German Shepherd
German Shepherds are an amazing breed due to their loyalty and devotion to their families, making them fantastic companions. As one of the most intelligent breeds, they are perfect for police work, providing a sense of safety for both their handlers and the public. In addition, German Shepherds have courage in spades, making them excellent choices for seniors who choose to live alone. Besides being brave and loyal guards, German Shepherds make great pets because despite their impressive height (they can get up to 90 pounds) they don’t need excessive amounts of exercise and so require moderate energy levels from day-to-day.

Greyhounds are a unique breed of dog due to their athletic physique, yet docile personalities. Despite what many may think, they make great companions for elderly people as they need regular exercise and love to lounge around the house afterwards. The breed’s independent nature can be viewed as desirable as they tend to reserve themselves around company, while still remaining gentle and compassionate when in the presence of their owner or family. Grooming is a breeze with the Greyhound’s short and smooth coat, requiring only occasional brushing. However, due to their powerful hunting instinct, it is imperative that owners always keep them leashed and closely monitored outside of their home.

4-Shih Tzu:
The Shih Tzu should definitely be considered if you are looking for the perfect lap dog that loves cuddles and sleeping in. They are great companions for both small home and apartment lifestyles, being comfortable with spending extended periods of time indoors but always up for a walk when going outside is an option. And although their size might make them seem harmless, these cuties make surprisingly great watchdogs despite their small stature. With the Shih Tzu, you get the best of both worlds: a loving and friendly pup that also helps add to your sense of security in your home.
